Bulk Change

Use the Bulk Change feature to modify the properties of multiple files.

The Bulk Change feature enables you to modify the properties of multiple files, folders, and maps. When you make a bulk change, you can choose to include dependencies and resource-only files.
You can bulk change the following properties:

  • File status
  • File owner
  • Metadata
Making a Bulk Change to File Owner

Change the owner of multiple files using bulk change.
  1. In the Content Manager , select the files, folders, or maps you want to modify.

    Expected Result
  2. Right-click and select Bulk Change .

    Expected Result
    The Bulk Change window displays.
  3. (Optional) Uncheck Include dependencies if you don’t want to change a map’s dependencies.

    Expected Result
    Include dependencies is unchecked.
  4. (Optional) Uncheck Include resource-only files if you don’t want to change the resource-only files in a map.

    Expected Result
    Include resource-only files is unchecked.
  5. Check Owner .
  6. In the Owner drop-down menu, select a owner.
  7. Click Save.

You changed the owner of multiple files.

Making a Bulk Change to File Status

Change the status of multiple files using bulk change. 
  1. In the Content Manager , select the files, folders, or maps you want to modify.

    Expected Result
  2. Right-click and select Bulk Change .

    Expected Result
    The Bulk Change window displays.
  3. (Optional) Uncheck Include dependencies if you don’t want to change a map’s dependencies.

    Expected Result
    Include dependencies is unchecked.
  4. (Optional) Uncheck Include resource-only files if you don’t want to change the resource-only files in a map.

    Expected Result
    Include resource-only files is unchecked.
  5. Check Status.
  6. In the Status menu, select the status you want to apply.

Making a Bulk Change to Metadata

Change the metadata of multiple files at once, using bulk change. 
  1. In the Content Manager , select the files, folders, or maps you want to modify.

    Expected Result
  2. Right-click and select Bulk Change .

    Expected Result
    The Bulk Change window displays.
  3. (Optional) Uncheck Include dependencies if you don’t want to change a map’s dependencies.

    Expected Result
    Include dependencies is unchecked.
  4. (Optional) Uncheck Include resource-only files if you don’t want to change the resource-only files in a map.

    Expected Result
    Include resource-only files is unchecked.
  5. Check the box next to the metadata category you want to modify.
  6. In the Action drop-down menu, select one of the following options:

    Action Result
    Add to existing Metadata tags are added to the selected files.
    Clear field All metadata tags in the selected files are cleared.
    Replace all with All metadata tags in the selected files are cleared and replaced with the new tags.
    Find and remove these Metadata tags are removed from the selected files.
  7. In the Metadata drop-down menu, select the metadata to apply the selected action to.

    Expected Result
    Metadata are selected.
  8. Click Save.
