XLIFF Package

section
Tip:Before you start a localization job, publish the map to an output like PDF so the localization team has reference content to use while localizing the content.

When you create a localization job, you can select to package your content as an XLIFF Package. easyDITA creates a ZIP containing a compiled XLIFF file (an xml-based format), a TXT file containing project notes, and reference content (optional). The compiled XLIFF file contains all the content, with each element wrapped in a source and target tag. When you first download the XLIFF Package, the source content and target content will both match. For example:
< trans-unit id="p-7"> < source> When you go into the garage, be prepared to get your hands dirty!< /source> < target> When you go into the garage, be prepared to get your hands dirty!< /target> < /trans-unit>

Your localization team is only responsible for adapting the content in the target tags. For example:
< trans-unit id="p-7"> < source> When you go into the garage, be prepared to get your hands dirty!< /source> < target> Al entrar en el garaje , estar dispuestos a ensuciarse las manos !< /target> < /trans-unit>

Important:Do not modify the source content. This will cause an error with the files as easyDITA can no longer link the target content with the source content once it has been changed.
