Learn how to publish your content from easyDITA to WordPress.
With your WordPress set up, you’re ready to publish from easyDITA to WordPress. Publishing your content requires the following steps:
Note:By default, maps and topics are published to WordPress as Pages. To change this, contact an easyDITA representative.
To update your published content, you’ll have to delete the published pages through easyDITA and WordPress and then publish it again. For more information, see Update Published Content.

Publish a Map to WordPress

Publishing content from easyDITA to WordPress.  
You have a map that you want to publish to WordPress.
  1. Open the map and click Publish. Or right-click the map, click Properties and then click Publish. This opens the Publishing interface.

  2. Click WordPress to select it as your publishing engine.

  3. Complete the following fields:

    1. In the WordPress account drop-down menu, select your WordPress acount.
    2. In the Title field, enter a name for the publish.
    3. (Optional) In the DITAVal field, click Change and navigate to a DITAVal file.
  4. Click Publish! to start the publishing job.

Your DITA map is published to the selected WordPress site. The URL is generated by affixing the Title you chose to your site URL.
Click the WordPress link to view the published page. You’ll see a “This page doesn’t have a type.” You need to configue your page type for the published content to display. For more information, see Display Published Content.
Display Published Content

With your content from easyDITA published to WordPress, you need to set the page type so the content displays.  
Your published page says “This page doesn’t have a type.” You need to set the page type of your published content for it to display.
  1. With your WordPress site open, add “/wp-admin” to the end of the root url.

    Your url should be formatted like this: http://{wp-site-domain}/wp-admin.

    To access the WordPress Adminstration settings, add “/wp-admin” to http://documentation.easydita.com.
    For example: http://documentation.easydita.com/wp-admin
  2. Log in using your credentials so you can change the page configuration.
  3. Click Pages, then navigate to and select the page you just published. Or use the search field to find the page.

    The Page name is the Title you entered in Publish a Map to WordPress.
  4. Now, you need to set the page type so the content displays. Under Custom Fields, in the Add New Custom Field area, do the following:

    Note:If the Custom Fields area does not display, click Screen Options and check Custom Fields.
    1. Select page_type from the drop-down menu.
    2. In the Value field, enter “content”.
    3. Click Add Custom Field.
  5. Click Update.
Your published content now displays.
Click Preview Changes to view the published content.

Republish your content to WordPress.
Currently, there is no way to update published content. So, you’ll have to delete the WordPress page on easyDITA and WordPress, and then publish the content again. This means that there will be some downtime between publishes.
  1. First, you need to delete the published pages in easyDITA so you can republish it using the same title. Open the map in the Publishing Interface and then click Delete WordPress Page.

  2. With the WordPress pages deleted, you need to delete the pages on WordPress too so you can publish the content and generate the same URLs. In the WordPress Admin dashboard, click Pages.

  3. To delete the pages on WordPress, click Trash and then click Empty Trash.

With the old publish deleted on easyDITA and WordPress, you’re ready to Publish a Map to WordPress again.
