Localization Jobs Tab
The Localization Jobs Tab in the Resource Viewer enables you to create and view localization jobs.

Localization Jobs Tab

The Localization Jobs Tab in the Resource Viewer enables you to create and view localization jobs.
The Localization Jobs Tab is used to start new localization jobs, view localization jobs in progress, and view available localizations for the file.

Localizing Content Using a Source Package

Use a source package to send the source files for localization.
You’re in the Content Manager and want to localize a map using a source package.
  1. Right-click a file and click Locales.

    Expected Result
    The View Locales Tab in the Resource Viewer displays.
  2. Click Localization Jobs.

    Expected Result
    The Localization Manager displays.
  3. In the New Localization Job drop-down menu, select Source Package and click Go.

    Expected Result
    The New Localization Job screen displays.
  4. Complete the following fields:

    1. To add notes to a project that will display in a TXT file, in the Project Notes field, enter any notes you have for the localization provider.
    2. To modify the Manager, enter or select a user.
    3. To include all resources in the source package, in the Include drop-down menu, select All Resources.
    4. To only include resources that have been modified, in the Include drop-down menu, select Only Changed Resources.
    5. Click Add Locale and select as many locales as you want.
  5. Click Save.

    Expected Result
    The localization job displays. The Project Notes, Manager, and Locales are displayed.
  6. Click Download Localization Package.
The localization job is created and a ZIP folder containing the localization package is downloaded. The source package can be sent out for localization.
Uploading a Source Package

Upload the translated source package and select the files you want to include.
You’re in the Content Manager and want to upload the localized source package.
  1. Right-click the localized file and click Locales.

    Expected Result
    The View Locales tab in the Resource Viewer displays.
  2. Click Localization Jobs.

    Expected Result
    The Localization Manager displays the localization jobs in progress.

  3. Select the localization job.
  4. Click Upload Localized Content.

    Expected Result
    The Upload window displays.
  5. Click Browse, and navigate to and open the localized content.

    Expected Result
    The Upload Response window displays and a match is performed for matching folder structures.
  6. For each set of files you want to include, select the Include option. If you do not want to include a set of files, uncheck Include.
  7. Click Save.

    Expected Result
    The resources are uploaded and the Status of Resources changes.
You uploaded the localized source package.
Localizing Content Using a XLIFF

Use a XLIFF file to send the source files for localization.
You’re in the Content Manager and want to localize content using a XLIFF.
  1. Right-click a file and click Locales.

    Expected Result
    The View Locales Tab in the Resource Viewer displays.
  2. Click Localization Jobs.

    Expected Result
    The Localization Manager displays.
  3. In the New Localization Job using drop-down menu, select XLIFF Package and click Go.

    The New XLIFF Localization Job screen displays.
  4. Complete the following fields:

    1. To add notes to a project that will display in a TXT file, in the Project Notes field, enter any notes you have for the localization provider.
    2. To modify the Manager, enter or select a user.
    3. Click Add Locale and select as many locales as you want.
  5. Click Save.

    Expected Result
    The localization job displays. The Project Notes, Manager, and Locales display.
  6. Click Download Localization Package.
The localization job is created and a zip folder containing the localization package with a compiled XLIFF is downloaded.
Uploading a XLIFF

Upload the translated XLIFF file and select the files you want to include.
You’re in the Content Manager and want to upload a translated XLIFF file.
  1. Right-click the localized file and click Locales.

    Expected Result
    The View Locales tab in the Resource Viewer displays.
  2. Click Localization Jobs.

    Expected Result
    The Localization Manager displays the localization jobs in progress.
  3. Click Upload Localized Content.

    Expected Result
    The Upload window displays.
  4. Click Browse, and navigate to and open the localized content.

    Expected Result
    The resources are uploaded and displayed in the Localization Manager.
