Learn how to build a plugin with the correct files.

You can build your own plugin to customize your PDF output. However, we recommend that you use the PDF Plugin Generator first to select the customizations you want and generate the correct plugin files. Then you can use the generated plugin as a skeleton for adding easyDITA PDF customizations.  
Tip:You should install the DITA-OT locally to build and test the plugin before uploading it into easyDITA. For more information, see Install the DITA OT Locally.
To build a plugin, you’ll need the create following files:

Install the DITA OT Locally

Develop your plugin through the DITA Open Toolkit locally on your computer, and then loading it into easyDITA.
Use the guide on the DITA Open Toolkit documentation website, Installing the full-easy-install package, to download and install the Open Toolkit locally.
Once you’ve installed the toolkit, open the appropriate file for your operating system: for Macs, open startcmd.sh in the Terminal; for Windows, open startcmd.bat in the Command Prompt. You are now running the DITA Open Toolkit on your computer.
You can publish content using the following command:

java -jar lib/dost.jar /i:input-file /transtype:transformation-type /parameter-name:value
